1. Harmonize a melody using primary chords and secondary dominants.
2. Transpose a simple piece up/down a half/whole step, both hands at the same time. You may be required to play more than one of the transpositions on the exam.
3. Improvise a melody and simple accompaniment over a given chord
progression for the required major and minor keys through two accidentals: C, D, F, G, Bb, am, dm, em, gm, bm
4. Sight read a hymn.
The HARMONIZATION, IMPROVISATION, and TRANSPOSITION examples will
be available as a PRINTED HARDCOPY the day before the jury exam outside
Dr. Landes' office, after about 10am.
